Library to host second Story Walk of the year | News, Sports, Jobs
No more walking, no more history, no more caps.
The Warren Public Library is hosting its second Story Walk of the year.
Naturally, the sequel to the summer walk, which featured Esphyr Slobodkina’s Caps for Sale, will feature Slobodkina’s More Caps for Sale and Ann Marie Mulhearn Sayer.
“Families and nursery schools can complete this history walk at their own pace from Monday October 4 to Sunday October 10” Children’s librarian Susan Slater said. Participants can pick up a Story Walk packet of plus capsules for sale in the lobby outside the children’s room or download one from our website – www.warrenlibrary.org – under Events, then Children’s Programs. “
There will also be packages available outside the entrance to the library parking lot.
“Thirteen different businesses along Liberty Street and Second Avenue will be posting pages of More Caps for Sale in their storefronts so you can read the current story as you walk through our downtown area,” said Slater. “The packages name the companies and tell you where to start.”
Participants who submit their package submission forms before October 15 will be entered into a draw.
“Twelve names will be drawn and the winners notified on October 18”, said Slater. “Each of the winners will receive a gift bag. Gift bags will include an array of prizes, including a t-shirt, a copy of one of the stories from Caps for Sale, a plush monkey and banana, a monkey head, a poster, a colorful beret and some other treats.
“Special thanks to Ann Marie Mulhearn Sayer and the Slobodkina Foundation for providing the prices for the t-shirts, posters and books”, said Slater.
